This is an original etching printed on Somerset Velvet White. Eight separate copper plates were used (6 strip plates & 2 full size) and employs aquatint and photo etching.

This is the first in a series of 3 etchings based on a visit I took to the historic medieval town of Tende in the French Alps. An iconic figure from murals on a nearby canyon wall dating to the copper and bronze ages is placed among a timeline grid and swirling turbulent forms that hint at Tende's rich & varied history.

The full size of the print is 9 3/4" H x 14 3/4" W. The full paper size is 22 1/4" W x 29 1/2" H.
