As an architect and urban designer I have had opportunities to work on major projects around the world. This experience has formed a lasting influence on my artwork as well as my writing. Travels for these projects took me to several parts of the U.S. as well as Hong Kong, Taipei, London, Hanoi, and Jubail, Saudi Arabia. My first novel, Shu Wei's Revenge, takes place in China and San Francisco's Chinatown. My 40 years in San Francisco has allowed me to visit Chinatown on many occasions, bringing a greater depth to this book. I am now working on a sequel.

My visits to many countries for pleasure allowed me to often find a convenient perch for sketching which served to capture a time and place and now make up a kind of travel diary.
